COSMETIC TREATMENT TRACKER

Document a treatment. Before, during and after.

Most treatments settle over weeks, and by the time they do, the before photo has usually been lost in a camera roll. Journae keeps the whole course together — baseline, settling period and follow-up — in one dated place.

Why a camera roll is not enough

The baseline is irreplaceable

A treatment can only be seen against the photo taken beforehand. Two minutes on the day before is the highest-value photo in the whole record.

The settling period is visible

Short-interval photos through the first fortnight show how swelling and redness change, which is often the part people most want to look back on.

No medical claims

Journae describes what appears different between two photos and how comparable they were. It does not evaluate treatment outcomes or recommend procedures.

Three steps, then just keep showing up

1

Photograph the day before

Front and both sides, indirect daylight, no make-up, no filters.

2

Capture the settling period

Every day or two for the first fortnight, then weekly.

3

Compare at follow-up

Baseline against week six, with your aftercare notes attached.

Documenting a treatment course

  • Take the baseline set before the appointment, not on the day of it — swelling can start quickly.
  • Match lighting and distance for every subsequent photo, or the comparison will show your camera rather than the treatment.
  • Keep a neutral expression in the same way each time; expression changes the result more than a subtle treatment does.
  • Photograph without make-up and without filters throughout the course.
  • Note the treatment name, date, practitioner instructions and aftercare products with the photos.

Staying on the safe side of the line

  • This is documentation of visible change, nothing more — it is not evidence that a treatment worked or did not.
  • Follow the aftercare you were given, and raise anything unexpected with your practitioner rather than with a photo app.
  • Journae does not recommend procedures, clinics or products, and never will.
  • Anything painful, spreading or worrying deserves prompt professional attention.

Journae records and compares photographs. It makes no medical claims, does not assess treatment outcomes and does not recommend procedures. Speak to a qualified practitioner about any treatment or complication.

Take the before photo while you still can.

The day before is the only day that baseline exists.
