Delete your Journae account

Journae (journaeapp.com) is a private progress-tracking app for hair, skin and wellbeing. You can permanently delete your Journae account and the personal data associated with it at any time.

How to request account deletion

You can delete your Journae account yourself from inside the app, or ask us to do it for you.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself in the app

Sign in to Journae on the web or in the mobile app.
Open Settings and scroll to Privacy & data.
Choose Delete account, then confirm by typing DELETE when prompted.
Your account, data and login are deleted immediately and you are signed out.

If you only want to clear your content but keep the account open, use Delete all data in the same section instead.

Option 2 — Ask us to delete it

If you cannot sign in, email us from the address on your account with the subject "Account deletion request". We will verify the request, delete your account and data, and confirm by email.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes the following. This cannot be undone.

Your profile information (name and account preferences) and notification settings.
All of your journeys, including planned, active, completed and archived ones.
All entries, notes, measurements and AI observations you have saved.
All photographs you have uploaded, removed from private photo storage.
Comparisons, milestones, badges, streak history and monthly summaries.
Tasks, action plans and reminders.
Referral records linked to your account.

What may be retained

Billing and payment records

If you have ever paid for a Journae plan, invoice and payment records are kept for the period required by UK tax and accounting rules. These are held by our payment provider and contain no journey content or photographs.

Encrypted backups

Deleted content is removed from the live database and photo storage immediately. Copies may remain in routine encrypted backups for a short period until those backups expire on their normal schedule.

If you ask us to delete it for you

Using "Delete account" in the app erases your content and your login record together, so nothing is retained. If you would rather we handled it, email trust@journaeapp.com from the address on the account and we will confirm when it is done.

Before you delete

Deletion is permanent. If you would like a copy of your progress first, use Export my data in Settings, or download your reports as PDFs.

If you are on a paid plan, cancel your subscription in Settings before deleting so no further renewal is taken.
