HOW IT WORKS

How Journae works

Five simple steps turn scattered photos into a clear, private record of change over time.

1

Choose Your Journey

Pick what you are tracking — hair, skin, scar recovery, fitness, weight, beard, dental, a cosmetic treatment or wound healing. Each journey sets its own photo angles, routine fields and suggested schedule.

Feature
Multiple journey tracking
Outcome
Everything you track has its own timeline instead of being lost in your camera roll.

Take Guided Photos

The camera shows a faint overlay of your last photo for that angle, plus prompts for framing and lighting, so each new photo matches the one before it.

Why consistency makes comparisons reliable

A comparison is only meaningful if the two photos were taken the same way. Journae's guided capture keeps these five things steady for you.

Lighting

Even, indirect light at the same time of day keeps tone and shadow stable. A change of light can look like a change in your skin or hair.

Camera angle

Holding the camera at the same height and tilt keeps proportions the same, so nothing appears larger or smaller than it is.

Distance

Standing the same distance away keeps scale consistent, which is what makes density, size and definition comparable.

Position

The same posture, expression and hair position removes the differences that have nothing to do with progress.

Background

A plain, unchanging background stops the eye being drawn to the room instead of to you.

How we use AI, honestly

  • Journae highlights visible changes. The AI compares two of your photos and describes what looks different in plain language.
  • Every observation includes a confidence level. High, Medium or Low, based on how well the photos match for lighting, angle and distance, and how clear the difference is.
  • Journae does not diagnose medical conditions. It does not identify illness, assess treatment success or recommend medication.
  • Seek professional advice where appropriate. If something concerns you, speak to a qualified healthcare professional. Journae is a visual tracking tool, not a medical device.

Your progress may be gradual. Journae helps you notice it.
