Journae is a private visual progress journal. You take guided photos of whatever you are working on, add notes about your routine, and Journae builds a timeline, comparisons and gentle AI observations so gradual change becomes visible.

How do I get started?

Create a free account, choose a journey during onboarding, set a goal, pick a reminder frequency and take your first guided photo. That first photo becomes the baseline every later comparison is measured against.

Is Journae free to use?

Yes. The Free plan includes one active journey with unlimited photos, the timeline, calendar, manual notes and checklist, basic comparisons, basic AI observations and a monthly summary.

What can I track?

Hair growth, skin progress, scar recovery, cosmetic treatment progress, weight loss and body transformation, fitness, beard growth, dental progress and wound healing. Each journey has its own suggested angles, routine fields and schedule.

Can I track more than one journey?

Yes. Free keeps one journey active, Plus up to five and Pro unlimited. Archived journeys never count towards the limit.

Can I change my goal?

At any time. Open the journey settings and edit the goal — nothing in your history is affected, and future observations and summaries use the new goal.

Do archived journeys count towards my plan?

No. Archived journeys are read-only and free of charge. You can view all of their photos, notes and reports, and restore them when you have an active slot available.

How do guided photos work?

When you open the camera, Journae shows a faint overlay of your previous photo for that angle plus framing and lighting prompts. Lining up with the overlay means your new photo can be compared fairly with the old one.

What happens if lighting changes?

A different light source can make skin, hair or scars look different when nothing has actually changed. Journae flags inconsistent conditions and lowers the confidence level on any observation made from those photos.

Can I add older photos I already have?

Yes — use Upload instead of the camera and set the original date so the photo lands in the right place on your timeline. Older photos may be less comparable if they were taken in different conditions.

Does Journae diagnose conditions?

No. Journae describes what is visibly different between two of your photos. It does not diagnose medical conditions, assess treatment success or recommend medication. Speak to a qualified professional about any medical concern.

How accurate are AI observations?

Accuracy depends on your photos. Every observation carries a confidence level — High when the photos are well matched and the change is clear, Medium when conditions differed or the change is subtle, Low when a reliable comparison was not possible.

How can I get better observations?

Shoot the same angle in the same light from the same distance, use the overlay, avoid filters, and leave enough time between photos for change to become visible.

Can I edit an AI-generated checklist?

Yes. Every task can be renamed, reprioritised, reordered, ticked off or deleted, whether the AI suggested it or you wrote it yourself.

What happens if I forget to take a photo?

Nothing is lost. Your streak pauses and your consistency score dips slightly, then recovers as soon as you capture the next photo. Journae is designed to be forgiving.

How do reminders work?

Each journey has its own reminder frequency — daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly — and the next date recalculates from your most recent entry.

What does the calendar show?

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open Settings → Subscription and select Cancel. You keep paid features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, then move to Free automatically.

What happens to my journeys if I downgrade?

If you have more active journeys than the new plan allows, you choose which stay active and the rest are archived. Archived journeys keep every photo and note and can be restored later.

Are my photos private?

Yes. Journeys are visible only to you. Photos are stored in private cloud storage, encrypted in transit and at rest, and served through short-lived signed links. There is no feed and no public sharing.

Can I delete my photos?

You can delete an individual photo, an entire journey or your whole account. Deletion removes the files from storage and cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy.

Does anyone else see my journeys?

No. Nothing is shared unless you export a report yourself and choose to send it to someone.

Can I download my progress?

Yes. Plus and Pro can export a PDF report containing the timeline, comparisons, observations and consistency for any date range. Pro can also include notes and action plans.

No. Journae is a visual tracking tool. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor medical conditions, and it cannot measure clinical improvement.

You can photograph and record them, and many people do. Journae only describes what is visible in your photos — always follow the aftercare advice of your clinician and contact them about anything that concerns you.

Should I show my Journae reports to a professional?

You are welcome to. A consistent photo record can be a useful reference in an appointment, but it is not a clinical assessment and should not replace professional advice.

How do I reset my password?

Use Forgot password on the Log In tab. If you registered with Google, sign in with Google instead of a password.

Can I change my email address?

Yes, from Settings → Account. You will be asked to confirm the new address before it becomes active.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Data → Delete my account. This permanently removes your photos, entries and notes, so export anything you want to keep first.
