Who is responsible
Journae is the controller for the personal data you provide when using the app. Our infrastructure, AI gateway, email and payment providers act as processors on our instructions. Registered entity details will be published here once registration is finalised; in the meantime all requests are handled at privacy@journaeapp.com.
Why we process your data
- Contract: to give you an account, store your journeys and photographs, and provide the plan you pay for.
- Consent: for optional analytics cookies, marketing email and for processing photographs that may reveal health-related information.
- Legitimate interests: security, abuse prevention, debugging and improving the product.
- Legal obligation: keeping billing and tax records.
Special category data
Photographs of skin, scalp, teeth, a healing area or your body may reveal information about your health. We process this only because you choose to upload it and consent to that processing, and only to provide the tracking and comparison features you have asked for. You can withdraw that consent by deleting the content or your account.
Your rights
- Access: a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: correction of anything inaccurate.
- Erasure: deletion of your content and account.
- Restriction: pause processing while a concern is resolved.
- Portability: your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: at any time, without affecting past processing.
How to make a request
Email privacy@journaeapp.com from the address on your account and tell us what you need. We may ask a question to confirm it is really you. We respond within one month and will tell you if a complex request needs longer.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you can complain to your national data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
